TVA has deemed themselves as The Alpha and Omega, rules maker, enforcer, and the “last word”. These days there is a great need for an unbiased party to keep and eye on “Big Government”. We see evidence of this everyday in the news. The people involved in lake development, residential water use facilities, and shoreline stabilization should have input in forming policies that influence their lives. It is the practice of TVA employees to choose a situation and harass the private landowner while ignoring red flags that would indicate extreme danger to our environment
My encounter with the TVA began six years ago when my wife and I purchased a home on Tims Ford Lake. We requested an onsite visit from a field representative of TVA. Ms. Samantha Strickland visited our property. We were requesting that our existing single boat dock be upgraded to a double boat dock with jet ski floats attached to the side. Ms. Strickland verbally approved this project. Three years ago, TVA informed me that my dock was in violation of their rules regarding shoreline usage. We have been in correspondence with them since that time with no acceptable resolution. I have received correspondence from sixteen individuals associated with the TVA. The issue has been passed from Guntersville, ALA to Knoxville, TN too many times to count
